- REQUEST FOR QUOTE ON 5140-01-495-0909 TOOL CHEST. PLEASE DOWNLOAD WORD DOCUMENT FOR QUANTITIES AND BID SUBMITTAL FORM. ALL BIDS MUST BE RECEIVED BY CLOSE OF BUSINESS JANUARY 16 2004. DRAWING AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST. DESCRIPTION: Case for storage and transport, shall be watertight. Case shall be rotationally molded polyethylene with a wall thickness of 3/16 inches. Color shall be olive drab (Fed Std. 595/34096). Inside dimensions shall be: length 68 inches, height 15 inches, and width 15 inches. Base height to lid shall be 10 inches, with a lid height of 5 inches. The base and lid shall be connected along the full 68-inch length with a piano hinge. The case shall have catches and strikes sufficient to keep the case closed without damage during and after impact or in transit. All hardware shall be stainless steel with a clear passivated finish. Shall have four recessed heavy-duty polyethylene, injected molded handles on each side (for a total of 8) of the-68 inch length. There shall be a recessed locking cable and hasp positioned on the hinged side of the case, that shall be of tamper-resistant aircraft steel. Special features: The interior of the case shall be bottom reinforced with 1/2 inch thick A-C exterior grade plywood. Walls and bottom of the case shall be covered with 1/2 inch thick, 2 lb. polyethylene black foam, with foam filling doubled in all areas of corners, sides and bottom. An inventory list of contents shall be permanently attached to the inside of the case lid.
