Description
The following meeting minutes are provided for the 8 JAN 2004 MANDATORY PRE-OFFER SITE VISIT held for RFQ FA4877-04-Q-0135; Tear-Off Roof/Asbestos Abatement-Community Center-DMAFB, AZ: 1. Question: Are contractor mobilization costs payable for this project? ANSWER: Prospective offerors shall respond with their respective price (to include all labor, equipment, materials, and all other necessary items required to perform the project), for Request for Quote FA4877-04-Q-0135 by the established offer due date. 2. Question: How much asbestos does the roof have/how hot is it? Answer: The government asbestos testing process is still underway. Previous tests have concluded existence of asbestos, however those test documents aren?t available. The results of recent asbestos tests will be available within the next 5 days. All attendees are to receive a fax copy of this report immediately after it is provided to the Contracting Office. 3. Question: Is there any type of work schedule that needs to be adhered to. Answer: The government requires the work to be done in accordance with the combined synopsis/solicitation. The DMAFB Roofing Shop shall provide the successful contractor at least two (2) weeks advance notice between work phases to allow adequate mobilization/preparation time. The contractor will work and coordinate phase start/stop days. Work delays, caused by weather, are to be coordinated with the DMAFB Roofing Shop on a case-by-case basis. 4. Question: Are the raised roof areas included in this project? Answer: The two (2) raised roofs areas are included in the scope of work and are to be accomplished in the very first phase of the project. 5. Question: Will this project be paid via IMPAC card? Answer: Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) shall make appropriate payments to the successful offeror in accordance with contract terms and conditions. 6. Question: Is the contractor responsible for installing a temporary sealant, or replacing wooden bracing bars (under the pipes) on the roof area? Answer: The contractor will be responsible for ensuring some type of bracing device is used to keep the pipes separated from the roof. The government is responsible for sealing the roof areas and shall install new wooden brace bars under the pipes during roof install phases. 7. Question: Can roll-off dumpster be parked along-side the Community center for debris disposal purposes. Answer: The DMAFB Roofing Shop contacted management of the Community Center and confirmed that permission has been granted to the contractor to use either the north or south parking lot areas for roll-offs. NOTE: Roll/Off placement and access to DMAFB may be affected by security procedures in place at the time. 8. Question: Are payrolls to be turned in by the contractor? Answer: The contract shall be IAW the Service Contract Act and will not require payrolls. 9. Does the government anticipate the need for work to be done on week ends? Answer: The DMAFB Roofing Shop does not anticipate work being done on weekends. There were no other questions Site Visit concluded at approx 1045 hrs.
