Medical Supplies - Potential Sources Sought Military Hospitals - (Army, Navy, Air Force) TRICARE Regions 9 and 10 Closed System for Cytotoxic Drug Preparation and Administration - Standardization Point of Contact: Cindy Ingrao, Clinical Consultant, Tri-Service Regional Business Office, TRICARE Regions 9 & 10, San Diego, CA. Telephone: (619) 532-8517. Potential sources sought to participate in the regional standardization of Closed System for Cytotoxic Drug Preparation and Administration. TRICARE Regions 9 and 10, a military integrated delivery network (IDN), comprised of Army, Navy and Air Force medical treatment centers in California are in the process of standardizing of Closed System for Cytotoxic Drug Preparation and Administration. Other TRICARE Regions may decide to work with Regions 9 and 10 as we go though the process. If your company currently holds or is in the process of obtaining a Distribution and Pricing Agreement (DAPA) with the Defense Supply Center-Philadelphia (DSCP), your company is eligible to participate in the standardization process. Please respond by Email: cingrao@reg9.med.navy.mil and provide your (a) company name, (b) address, (c) point of contact, (d) telephone, (e) fax number, (f) E-mail address, and (e) answers to the below listed questions no later than January 23, 2004. For questions, please call (619) 532-8517. 1.Does your company manufacture Closed Systems for Cytotoxic Drug Preparation and Administration? 2.Are your products available through the Prime Vendor, Owens & Minor? 3.What is your DAPA Number? 4.Under what brand(s) does your company manufacture or distribute your product? 5.Under what standards are your products manufactured? 6.Is your product latex free? 7.Is your product compatible with all needleless ports? If not, what types of ports are not compatible? 8.Do you use non-toxic, color fast dyes for labeling on your products? 9.What material is your device made of? 10.What sizes are available for your device? 11.Does your device come with a needle? 12.What material is the needle made of? 13.What gauges and lengths does the needle come in? 14.Does your device have a safety feature that prevents needle stick injury? 15.Is the safety feature an integral part of the device? 16.Does the safety feature activate automatically or does it have to be activated by the user? 17.Does the safety feature require the user?s hands to remain behind the needle at all times? 18.After activation of the safety feature, does it remain activated during removal of the needle from the patient and after disposal? 19.Is your device incompatible with any fluids or medications? 20.Does your device equalize pressure in the vial? 21.Does your device allow for cytotoxic preparation outside of a biological safety cabinet? 22.Does your device allow cytotoxic vapors to escape from the vial? 23.Is this device compatible with all IV tubings and extension tubings used in inpatient facilities? 24.What is the standard unit of issue (box, each, package)? 25.Are there any special disposal needs for this product (chemo buckets, etc.)? 26.Does your device come sterile in a package that can be delivered to a sterile field? 27.What types of educational tools or materials do you have for this product line? 28.What kind of staff training does your company provide? 29.Does your company provide customer service 24/7? 30.Is there any history of backorders and/or recalls for this product group?
