Description

The purpose of this notice is to inform interested parties that the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), Patuxent River, Maryland, intends issue an order under Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA), N00019-01-01-G-0128, on a sole source basis with Pioneer UAV Inc., 9 Schilling Rd, Hunt Valley, MD 21030-0738 to acquire Pioneer components consisting of payloads, receiver systems, Engines, IFF Transponders, Ground Control Stations and aircraft components (wiring harness, spars, rudders, etc.) for the Pioneer UAV System. Tasks for this acquisition require detailed knowledge of the Pioneer System design, since production drawings are not available. Accordingly, as the designer, developer and sole manufacturer of the Pioneer UAV, PUI is the only firm with the unique knowledge, experience, technical expertise, and understanding of the Pioneer design and system architecture. Award to any one other than PUI would result in substantial duplication of cost to the Government and unacceptable delays in fulfilling the Navy's requirements. The estimated period of performance is February 2004 to April 2005. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS.
