- Description
- The U.S. Coast Guard Engineering Logistics Center is looking for interested parties to provide Agile Radar Transponder Beacons (RACONS). The Racon is used as a maritime aid to navigation device that responds to interrogation signals from commercial marine radars and is a dual frequency configuration, multipurpose system incorporating state of the art modular construction techniques. The Government requires a developed product to meet the requirements of the Coast Guard?s statement of work which will be provided electronically. Salient Characteristics of the AN/SPS-73(V) marine radar will be made available electronically to provide the Racons operating parameters. The Coast Guard?s basic minimal test procedures will also be made available electronically as they are required to ensure conformance and operational standards. Racon samples will be made available for visual inspection only at the USCG ELC, Baltimore, MD and requests shall be made, in writing, to the Contracting Officer. In addition to the requirements of the statement of work/specifications, the USCG ELC will accept offers of products more technically advanced. Past procurement history for this item can be made available upon request. It is the Coast Guard?s intention to advertise a solicitation for requirements within 45-60 days of this notice of Sources Sought. It is each vendor?s individual responsibility to the monitor the EPS system for changes. Procurement related/contractual questions shall be made to the attention of the Contract Specialist, Ms. Florence Harwood, (410)762-6455. All responsible sources are invited to express their interest and ability to provide the above described item(s), in writing, no later than 6 February 2004.
