- US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (USICE) is seeking industry comment for a pistol model ?family? consisting of a sub-compact, and a compact/full size pistol that maximize interchangeable parts. This announcement is to identify potential offerors and solicit industry comments and questions. USICE is not interested in pricing estimates in response to this announcement. The Government does not intend to pay for any information provided. The primary requirement for the pistol model ?family? shall be manufactured in 9x19mm ?Parabellum?, .40 S&W; and a third model .357 Sig minimizing alteration of components between the respective calibers. The pistol shall safely and reliably operate with all ammunition meeting SAAMI specification in its respective chambered caliber. Award will be based on the .40 S&W with the related ?family? pistols meeting the minimum criteria. USICE intends to award a best value IDIQ contract for a base year with four option years. It is anticipated that the solicitation will be released on or about February 6, 2004. The solicitation will be issued on General Services Administration?s Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) website http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. Pricing will be submitted through a Reverse Auction. Only Contractors that are considered technically acceptable after evaluation of the technical requirements shall be permitted to participate in the Reverse Auction. Offerors will need to register with www.FEDBID.com to submit their pricing quotes. Questions regarding registration should be addressed to Client Services at 1-877-9FEDBID (toll free). This office must receive responses from industry no later than 1:00 EST on January 26, 2004.
