- Program Description The VA Drop-In Day Treatment Center is a freestanding outpatient clinic that is centrally located in downtown Little Rock. This center is uniquely designed to provide a variety of mental health, medical, and social service programs for ?street homeless? clients. This center serves as the home base to four separate specialized homeless projects with a combined total of 13 employees and two shared employees from VA and community partnership programs. Program clinicians see an average of sixty-five clients per day. In regards to clinical diagnosis, approximately 95% of the clients served have either a mental health and/or substance abuse diagnosis. Eligibility Requirements Individuals filling this position must be certified law enforcement officers, be licensed to carry a weapon and have arrest authority. The contractor shall be licensed, permitted and in compliance with the State of Arkansas. The contracting agency must have experience executing VA/Government Contracts. Principal Duties and Responsibilities 1. Monitoring the perimeter of the facility for disturbed behaviors, loitering or drug activity; 2. Limiting access to the building for non-veterans; 3. Screening individuals entering the facility for drugs, weapons or other forms of contraband; 4. Assisting with morning check-in; 5. Monitoring safety in the facility; 6. Assisting staff with managing disruptive behaviors; 7. Ensuring that no personal bags or belongings are left in the building and that no unattended or unauthorized vehicles are on the parking lot; 8. Co-facilitating the legal advocacy group.
