Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial item(s) prepared in accordance with FAR12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. The North Atlantic Regional Contracting Office intends to issue a Request for Qu otation (RFQ) W91YTZ-04-T-0031 for an ORTEC, high-pure germanium (HPGe) based portable nuclide gamma identifier, ??????Detective?????? model, or equal, which includes: one High-pure Germanium-based portable nuclide Gamma Identifier; one carrying case; one battery belt; one vehicle power adapter; and on-site training. The portable nuclide gamma identifer must employ an intrinsic germanium detector. The high-pure Germanium-based portable nuclide gamma identifier will be used to specifically identify isotopes as in depleted uranium (DU) shrapnel in wounded service members, assist with accident/incident response, and/or use by nuclear weapons proliferation teams searching for weapons of mass destruction. The high-pure germanium poratble nuclide gamma identifier must operate as part of a world-wide deployment unit. Ease of transportation on military or civilian vehicles is required. Unit must be cooled electromechanically. The Solicitation document and incorporated Provisions and Clauses are those in effect throu gh Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2001-18. This Procurement is unrestricted, the SIC Code is 3826; the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 334516; the FSC 6650. Delivery shall be to Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Building 5 2, 6900 Georgia Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20307.
