Description
This synopsis was previously published under control number 034581 and listed as solicitation number N66604-03-R-4581. Solicitation N66604-03-R-4581 will not be issued. The requirement will be issued as solicitation N66604-04-R-1804. The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport, Newport, RI intends to solicit proposals for the fabrication, testing, and delivery of MX-10624 Acoustic Windows. The MX 10624B is an acoustic ?window? used in conjunction with top sounding systems on board US submarines. Its primary purpose is to provide an acoustically transparent interface to seawater from the sensor by allowing high frequency acoustic signals to pass with little reflection or attenuation. It also provides protection to the sensor from afloat debris and smoother conformance to the hull. A five year Indefinite Delivery, Requirements contract with Firm Fixed Price provisions is anticipated. Three First Article Units will be required. Each year?s production quantity is up to 75 units. Award will be made on the basis of Best Value. Technical evaluation criteria are Technical Approach and Past Performance. The solicitation will be set aside 100% for Small Businesses only. NAICS Code is 334511 and the size standard is 750 employees. Clearance to the CONFIDENTIAL level is required. Parts of the Critical Item Product Specification (CIPS) are classified and not available on the web. Drawings are not manufacturing drawings and will be provided for information only. Requests for the CIPS and drawings must be made by sending an email [marsoccihj@npt.nuwc.navy.mil] or written request to H. J. Marsocci, Code 5913, Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport, Bldg. 11, Simonpietri Drive, Newport, RI 02841-1708. Release of the CIPS and drawings are subject to security approval and shall be furnished to cleared facilities once the solicitation is issued. The solicitation is expected to be released on or about 1/12/2004.
