- Description
- The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS), National Institutes of Health, announces the availability of a Request for Proposals (RFP) to support research to facilitate the efficient execution of NINDS-sponsored clinical research in order to complete more clinical research projects and to develop and test more treatments of neurological diseases more expeditiously. NINDS-supported investigators will use the Clinical Research Collaboration (CRC) Facility to assist with recruitment of patients for clinical studies, involving the broadest possible range of patients and physicians. Hundreds of academic-based and practice-based neurologists will recruit and follow patients through access to multiple clinical research protocols coordinated by the CRC Facility. Researchers will have more ready access to larger groups of patients with rare diseases. Research projects will be developed, funded, analyzed, and reported by independent investigators through the traditional peer-review process, with the CRC Facility serving as hub and providing research support services. It is anticipated that one cost-reimbursement type contract will be made for a period of five years in September 2004. This is not a Request for Proposals (RFP). THIS SOLICITATION WILL BE AVAILABLE ELECTRONICALLY ONLY. It will be available electronically and may be accessed through the FedBizOpps (URL: http://www.fedbizopps.gov) or through the NINDS website at the following URL address:(http://www.ninds.nih.gov/funding/currentrfps.htm) 15 or more calendar days after issuance of this synopsis.
