- REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ? METEOROLOGICAL SERVICES THIS IS NOT A NOTICE OF RFP ISSUANCE. THIS EFFORT IS UNDERTAKEN TO DETERMINE IF THE TECHNOLOGY IS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE IN THE COMMERCIAL MARKETPLACE TO SUPPORT THE METEOROLOGICAL SERVICES REQUIRED BY THE AIR FORCE SPACE COMMAND Air Force Space Command (AFSPC) is currently undertaking a preliminary study to determine if the commercial market is capable of supporting weather operations for several AFSPC locations. Duties include but are not limited to integrating current and forecast atmospheric and space weather conditions into operations and operational planning; developing, directing and coordinating meteorological and space weather studies and research; and providing meteorological and space weather information for AFSPC air, ground, and space operations. The installations involved in this effort include but are not limited to: Patrick AFB, FL; Vandenberg AFB, CA; Peterson AFB, CO; Buckley AFB, CO ; Schriever AFB, CO; Malmstrom AFB, MT; F.E. Warren AFB, WY; and Ascension Island. Services need to be provided on an individual installation basis or as a conglomerate effort. All sources capable of providing these services are being sought. In addition to the information provided below entitled ?Capabilities Package,? responding parties must also indicate their size status in relation to the applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code 541990 (6 million in sales). Sources with 8 (a) status or otherwise classified as a small disadvantaged business should address their status in their responses. Capabilities Package. All interested firms should submit a capabilities package that outlines the firm?s capabilities in providing the required services. The package must include capability to provide all management and labor required for the operation and management of the required services. The capabilities package should be brief and concise, yet clearly demonstrate an ability to meet the stated requirements. The response must not exceed ten (10) printed pages in Arial, font size 12 and should be submitted in hardcopy format and in electronic format on one(1) CD ROM in either Word or PDF. Supporting information may be separately included in the package. Only the written package will be utilized for evaluation purposes. Submit capabilities by mail to ATTN: Charles S.
