Description
The DOD Executive Agency for Low-Level Radioactive Waste will hold the 14th Annual DOD Waste Generators Meeting at the Marriott Pavilion in St. Louis, MO 12-14 May 2004. The objective of the meeting is to give you the opportunity to meet and hear fro m management personnel responsible for the Department of Defense (DOD) Radioactive Waste Disposal Program and give you information on a variety of radioactive waste issues. The agenda will focus on the changes affecting current and new disposal site avai lability, disposal costs, new technologies for waste management, radioactive materials in the public sector and other national issues. Attendees will include representatives of the Army, Navy, Defense Logistics Agency, U.S. Corps of Engineers, Air Force, Department of Energy, state governments, regulators, low-level waste compacts, the Low-Level Waste Forum, and the low-level waste contractors. There will be a limited amount of display/exhibit space available. We are also soliciting technical presentations from the industry. Technical presentations must be applicable to DOD generated waste streams and processing requirements, and will be select ed on a first come basis - these agenda time slots are extremely limited and require an abstract NLT 1 April, 2004. Normally the agenda slots will be filled before the deadline. In the past there have been an average of 100 attendees, 15 exhibitors and 4 technical presentations selected. You will have an excellent opportunity to learn more and participate in discussions about national radioactive waste issues; the DOD radioactive waste program??????s procedures, capabilities and requirements; and meet with and address issues with state, co mpact and federal regulators.
