- This requirement is for Medical /Dental and Organizational Laundry Services for Womack Army Medical Center (WAMC) and Tenant Activities. The period of performance is 01 May 2004 through 30 April 2005 with four one-year option periods. The Contracto r shall provide all personnel, equipment, transportation, supplies, vehicles, and facility, except items specified as government-furnished, necessary to assure that all operations and services are conducted in accordance with the contract. The services in clude pick-up soiled/contaminated linen and deliver clean linen for approximately 1.5 million pounds of government-owned linen per year. Pick-up and delivery shall be made daily, except as otherwise stated. Services include processing articles received t hrough the following tasks: wash/dry, presswork, and folding. Types of items to launder include Laundry Bags, Blankets, Physician Coats, Cubicle Curtains, Patient Gowns, Table Cloths, Bed Sheet, Towels, etc. Contractor must maintain a system of records a s to work performed sufficient to answer all reasonable issues with regard to the linen supply and work performed. Contractor must accomplish all work in accordance with the Joint Commission on Accreditations of Hospital Manual, all regulations cited in t he contract, and industry standards. Only one award will be made for these services. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 812332 and the Small Business Size Standard is $12 million. This requirement will be issued on a 100% small business set-aside basis. The date and time of the Site Visit will be provided in the Request for Proposals (RFP) that is anticipated to be released by 12 March 2004. The Contractor must have experience in providing hospital laundry cleaning service s. The firm must have gained this experience as a result of being regularly engaged in the business of providing laundry services in health care/patient care environments (e.g., inpatient and outpatient medical treatment facilities). The minimum level of acceptable experience required is 36 months within the previous 48 months. Only firms with this experience will be considered for award. The contractor shall be available during normal duty hours and shall be able to meet on the installation with governm ent personnel within 24 hours after notification.
