Description

"General: The National Park Service, Department of Interior, is soliciting proposals for construction firms having the capability to perform the work described below. This solicitation will be issued electronically, on the Department of Interior's National Business Center (NBC) web site, at http://ideasec.nbc.gov Paper copies of this solicitation will not be made available. Prospective offerors desiring to conduct business with DOI are requested to register at the National Business Center. Proposal documents will be available in Microsoft Word, HTML and Adobe PDF, Specifications will be available in Adobe PDF format, and drawings will be available in PDF format. Offerors wishing to receive electronic notification of changes will need to register to receive notification of this specific solicitation at http://ideasec.nbc.gov. This service is provided for convenience only and does not serve as a guarantee of notification. "Proposed Issue Date: January 30, 2004 "Title of Project: Yosemite Valley Integrated Utility Project Phase 1 "Description: The work of this contract consists of installation of underground utility corridors (water pipelines, gravity sewer pipelines, sanitary sewer force mains, communication ducts, and electrical ducts) between Curry Village and Northside Drive, including a crossing of the Merced River, and extension into Yosemite Village; between Northside Drive and Yosemite Creek Lift Station, including a crossing of Yosemite Creek; and the Housekeeping Camp from the new lift station to Southside Drive. Installation of a gravity sewer in Curry Village and Yosemite Village; installation of low voltage duct banks for bus stops; and installation of two sanitary sewer lift stations. Installation of a standby generator; installation of two isolation switches at the Valley Substation; modification of the existing electrical system at the Powerhouse Building; and installation of 12-kv cabling and switches. Installation of communication cabling; addition to SCADA system; sheeting, shoring and bracing. Removal and reprocessing of asphalt pavement from Upper and Lower River Campgrounds and from utility corridors for trench backfill and base material for paving (Additive Item ). Removal and stockpiling of aggregate base from the Upper and Lower River Campgrounds for use in road repair and repaving in this project (Additive item). The work includes: traffic control, site preparation, saw cutting, full road width, half road width or trench width pavement removal and disposal; dewatering, excavation, trenching, disposal of excavated materials; furnishing and installing materials and equipment, backfilling, compacting, grading, full road width, half road width or trench width repaving, site restoration; and startup and testing. "Type of Procurement: A negotiated firm-fixed price contract will be awarded requiring submission of both a technical and a price proposal. The government will consider an offeror's technical capability equal to its price. "Estimated price range, More than $10,000,000. "Time for completion, 365 calendar days. "Proposal receipt date is approximate; actual date will be established at the time proposal documents are available. "All responsible sources may submit an offer that will be considered.
