VESSEL REQUIRED: U.S. FLAG OCEAN GOING TUG. CONTRACTOR SHOULD PLAN TO LOAD THE VESSEL PER THE INTENT OF THE U.S. NAVY TOWING MANUAL, SL 740-AA-MAN-010, SEPT 88. MINIMUM SPEED LADEN IN MODERATE WEATHER IS 5 KNOTS DESCRIPTION OF THE TOW: TWO LANDING CRAFT MECHANIZED-8(LCM-8) LONGEST: 884 INCHES WIDEST: 253 INCHES HEIGHT : 240 INCHES TOTAL WEIGHT OF 1700 LTONS THIS RFP CAN BE DOWNLOADED FROM THE MSC WEB PAGE AT WWW.MSC.NAVY.MIL, GO TO CONTRACTS AND THEN OPEN SOLICITATION.
