Description
The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to issue a sole source modification to contract N00024-02-C-6247 with Kollmorgen Electro-Optical Division of Danaher Corporation, 347 King Street, Northampton, MA 01060-2390, for the procurement of material, fabrication, assembly, check-out, testing and delivery of AN/BVS-1(V) Photonics Mast Variant (PMV) Systems. The PMV is a variant of the photonics mast being procured under contract N00024-02-C-6247 in support of the Photonics Mast Program (PMP) and is required to support the SSGN Imaging Modernization Program. The PMV is a non-hull penetrating submarine electronic imaging system that will replace the Type 15L periscopes on SSGN class submarines. The modification will include a firm requirement for one PMV system in FY 04, with options for two additional PMV systems in FY05 and one additional PMV system in FY06. The modification will al so allow for the performance of Engineering Services in support of the PMV Program. Kollmorgen is the designer, developer and manufacturer of the PMP and as such is the only source with the requisite knowledge and technical experience to provide the PMV System within the program?s schedule and cost constraints. The period of performance for the contract remains unchanged, ending 01 December 2012, if all options are exercised. The period of performance for the PMV systems is expected to be from the date of modification execution until 30 April 2008, if all options are exercised. This contract modification will be awarded pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
