Description
The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center Norfolk Detachment Philadelphia intends to acquire advisory and support services for the Bureau of Medicine and Surgery (BUMED) to effectively plan, coordinate and execute various conferences. This requirement is being solicited as a commercial items (CI) acquisition in accordance with FAR Part 12, using simplified acquisition procedures as set forth in FAR Part 13.5. This acquisition will result in the award of a firm fixed price indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity type contract with a maximum number of conferences set at five per year beginning during the current fiscal year (FY04). The resultant contract will include option provisions for each of the successive four fiscal years. Total attendees at these conferences will generally be between 100 and 500 attendees, although larger (or smaller) conferences may be ordered under the resultant contract. The successful contractor will be involved in the pre-planning of the conference, including attending weekly committee meeting, site selection research and the development of on-line website registration. Further examples of the contractor responsibilities under the contract will include; maintenance of the official conference schedule; ensure smooth transition of presentations; facilitation of main and breakout sessions; Register and validate attendees and speakers via electronic means; coordinate security passes and other clearances when necessary; coordinate all IT related support at the conference site; design website to allow for a large volume of registration and exercise information; maintain and update database records pertaining to the conference; format compress and place pre-conference information and virtual tour of the website; provide database with master list of attendees; field and answer questions pertaining to the operational exercise requirements and conference forums on the database; send confirmation of registration to members; input post-conference surveys into the database; and tabulate survey results. The contractor will also be required to be on-site at all times during the conference. The RFQ will consider contractor?s past performance and proposed price as the evaluation factors. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 561920; size standard $6M. This RFQ will be made available electronically upon its release at www.neco.navy.mil. Paper copies, faxed copies, or e-mail copies of the solicitation will not be provided. Interested parties are solely responsible for monitoring the above website for posting of the RFQ and any amendments thereto. The Government will not pay for information received.
