Description
The U. S. Coast Guard is considering whether or not to set aside an acquisition for Small Business concerns within the geographic restricted area of the Great Lakes of the United States only. The estimated value of this procurement (including the base period and all option years) is between $100,000.00 and $500,000.00. The small business size standard is less than 1,000 employees. The acquisition is for the drydocking and repair of the USCGC BRISTOL BAY (WTGB 102) A 140FT ice breaking tug and 120ft aids to navigation barge. The vessel?s homeport is Detroit, MI. Repairs are to be performed at the contractor?s facility located within the Great Lakes of the United States. This work will include, but is not limited to: Routine drydocking, welding repairs, renew hatches, propeller inspection, removal and repairs, clean/test grid coolers, clean exhaust stacks and spark arrestors, clean engine room exhaust ventilation system, overhaul blowers, overhaul and renew valves, overhaul anchor windlass and warping capstan, inspect deck fittings, renew weather decks and buoy deck, preserve superstructure, freeboard and underwater body, provide temporary messing, berthing and logistics. Trained welders, who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures, shall accomplish all welding and brazing. At the present time, this acquisition will be issued under full and open competition procedures. Your response is required by January 29, 2004. All of the above must be submitted in sufficient detail for a decision to be made on a small business set aside.
