Description
The Defense Supply Center Philadelphia (DSCP) Medical Directorate proposes establishing a Laboratory Readiness Contract [similar to current Vendor Managed Inventory contracts (VMI)& Corporate Exigency Contracts (CEC)] for medical/surgical and laboratory ware and supply products. The Government is soliciting interest from both manufacturers and distributor of Laboratory Clinical/Diagnostics products and medical surgical supplies. Laboratory items range in type from pipettes to reagents and other items used with OEM analyzers. Multiple awards are anticipated to both manufacturers and distributors for approximately 1400 line items, each identified by the Services as ?critical? to support ?readiness?. Readiness support not only includes DoD wartime medical materiel requirements, but also humanitarian, emergency relief, contingency operations and other DoD directed response efforts. By partnering with Industry, DSCP will obtain guaranteed access to ?safety? stock or increased stockage levels, that are maintained, managed and rotated with the contractor?s commercial items. The Government pays the contractor a fee for managing the government accessed materiel and all program/contract requirements. As important, the resulting award will serve as an ordering instrument, providing the capability to order awarded items in support of relief, contingency, or other DoD managed emergency operations worldwide. The value of the inventory is estimated at $16 million per year. The SOW allows flexibility for parties to add and delete items in accordance with the Services requirements, as well as industry trends and changing technology. The term of the contract will be one base year with nine, one-year option periods. The solicitation, SP0200-04-R-7702, will be posted to the DLA Procurement Gateway on 13 February 2004.
