Description
SOURCES SOUGHT: SIMULATOR, PROJECTILE, M74A1, NSN 1370-00-028-6007. The solicitation, (when written), will be written to include multiple year (i.e. 5 years) requirements and will utilize range pricing and Best Value criteria. This simulator is used to provide battle noises and other effects during troop maneuvers. It produces a flash of light followed by a loud report. The simulator has a one-piece aluminum case with an extracting rim, and resembles a large shotgun shell. The c ase contains a percussion primer mounted in the base, a black powder propelling charge, a delay fuse, and an inner case containing a flash charge. The simulator is fired from a Pyrotechnic Pistol (AN-M8). Aimed at a 45-degree elevation, the height of the b urst is approximately 100 feet. A respondent to this survey should be able to show adequate technical and manufacturing capability and good past performance in the explosives processing industry. A respondent to this market survey must have available a majority of the skills and facilities that are required to manufacture these items. If a respondent does not have adequate resources (technical, manufacturing, personnel, etc.) available, the respon dent must be able to demonstrate his ability to obtain those resources in a timely fashion. If a respondent chooses to utilize the services of sub-tier vendors or subcontractors, those vendors or subcontractors must also meet these criteria.
