Description

Requirement is to provide all personnel, equipment, tools, materials, supervision, and other items and services necessary to collect, package; and transport medical/infectious waste in accordance with all Federal, Mississippi, and local laws and regulations. Medical/infectious waste will be picked up from Keesler Medical Center (Building 0468, Room BA117), Dental Clinic (Building 0824, sterilization room) and the Clinical Research Laboratory (Building 0404, west loading dock) twice a week and transported to a waste treatment and disposal facility licensed to accept medical waste. Contractor performance shall meet or exceed commercial standards of the industry. Period of performance will be a six-month base period from 01 Apr 04 to 30 Sep 04 and four one-year option periods. The Government contemplates award of a firm-fixed price contract to the offeror whose offer is determined to be the best value to the Government based on price and past performance. This acquisition is in Designated Industrial Group 4, and as such, is UNRESTRICTED. The NAICS code is 562211 and the small business standard is $10.5 million. The requirement is subject to the Service Contract Act, but since the place of performance is unknown at this time, the local prevailing wage determination will be incorporated into the final award. All responsible sources may submit an offer or quotation, which will be considered. Solicitation number FA3010-04-T-0005 will be issued electronically on 28 January 2004 and may be accessed and downloaded at: www.eps.gov . Offerors unable to access this address can contact the contract administrator for instructions or assistance. Tentative closing date for offers is 18 Feb 2004. All prospective bidders must be enrolled in the Central Contractor Registry (CCR).
