- Provide the services of a qualified marine repair contractor to perform the following work: HABITABILITY, Perform work as outlined in the attached work items Statement of Work: Request to provide the services of a qualified marine repair contractor to perform the following work :HABITABILITY Perform work as outlined in the attached work items DECK IN CREW & OFFICERS MESS, MAIN DECK PASSAGEWAY AND PILOTHOUSE (SO Sch 164) This item describes requirements for the contractor to install the STRATICA system in designated areas. Crew mess 20? x 20?, officers mess 20? x 15?, passageway 70? x 6? and pilothouse 30' x 30'. Provide various colors to the MSCREP for selection. All materials contractor supplied. A. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS 1. Provide various colors to the Master/Chief Engineer for selection. All materials contractor supplied. 1. Remove all interference?s and reinstall when completed, cover with plastic sheet, all non-removable interference?s. Remove baseboard molding. 2. Prepare deck surface in accordance to manufacturer requirements. All dirt, debris, and liquids resulting from this work shall be removed from the ship daily and all areas involved left clean. MSCREP to approve surface preparation. 3. Apply correct underlayment to assure flat surface. 4. Install "Stratica" deck covering system in colors picked by MSCREP and documented. 5. Install vinyl cove molding against all bulkheads adjoining new deck surface. Seam at juncture of molding to deck to be sealed. B. DOCUMENTATION Submit "As Painted" coating record to MSCREP within 3 days of completion. Include number of square feet blast cleaned, primed, and intermediate coating. Record shall also include the number of gallons for each coat of epoxy. Two (2) dry film thickness readings shall be logged for every 100 square feet. ACCEPTANCE B. To the satisfaction of the MSC REP C. REFERENCES Ref. Dwg. T-ATF-171-634-4842680, Titled ?Deck Covering Schedule and Details? RE FURBISH UTILITY, 3RD MATE AND COOKS STATEROOM (SO Sch 164) A. STATEMENT OF WORK NOTE: Coordinate work with deck work in item 606 1. Remove all furniture and equipment from staterooms. Remove all overhead, including T bar and panels. Remove all foundations. 2. Replace all furniture using pieces supplied by the Government. Install new foundations as needed. Ensure all furniture and equipment is secure for use at sea. 3. Replace overhead using new T bar and panels, approximately 500 square feet total. 4. Remove all electrical interference to nearest junction. Replace with new cable and hook-up all electrical equipment removed as interference and provided as new. B. PRESERVATION Mechanically spot clean to SSPC-SP 11all areas exposed and deteriorating. Coordinate this with the MSCREP. Assume 100 square feet. Prepare and paint all bulkheads and doors in each stateroom, approximately 180 linear feet. Preparation is to remove topcoat to intact primer and recoat with two coats of MSC approved paint. Colors to be approved by Master/MSCREP. C. ACCEPTANCE 1. To the satisfaction of the MSC REP D. GOVERNMENT FURNISHED MATERIAL Each Stateroom Berth, Dbl, 2 drawers 39" by 80" Mattresses,2 Shelf, Berth, 2 Light, Berth, 2 Privacy curtain, 2 Fan, bulkhead mounted Wardrobe, Officers 24" by 23" with drawers, 2 Coat and hat hook, 4 Arm Chair Desk Bookshelf Lounge Chair, 2 DECK IN UTILITY, 3RD MATE AND COOKS STATEROOM (SO Sch 164) This item describes requirements for the contractor to install the STRATICA system in designated areas. THRESHOLDS IN VARIOUS STATEROOMS Ref VR 03-008 (SO Sch 164) This item describes requirements for the contractor to renew Thresholds and flooring in various staterooms. A. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS 1. Remove approximately 12 thresholds, located in each stateroom, between the stateroom and the bathroom. Template from existing and replace each threshold using polished stainless steel, one eighth inch thick. Stitch weld new thresholds to deck 2. Remove all interference?s and reinstall when completed, cover with plastic sheet, all non-removable interference?s. Remove Threshold and adjacent tile and deck underlayment. 3. Mechanical clean deck surface, power tool rusted areas to (SSPC-SP11), for estimating purposes assume 10% will require power tool cleaning. All dirt, debris, and liquids resulting from this work shall be removed from the ship daily and all areas involved left clean. MSCREP to approve surface preparation. 4. Wipe down power cleaned areas with Ameron #65 thinner or similar. Apply one spot coat of Ameron Bar Rust 235 Buff to achieve 5 mils dft to all mechanically cleaned areas. 5. Apply a full coat of Ameron Bar Rust White to achieve 5mils dft. Ensure surfaces to be painted are completely free of dust, oil grease, moisture and any other foreign material. 6. Install new epoxy underlayment, and deck covering where disturbed. B. ACCEPTANCE 1. To the satisfaction of the MSC REP CARPET IN MASTERS OFFICE/STATEROOM Ref VRR 03-069 (SO Sch 164) This item describes requirements for the contractor to renew Carpet in Masters Office and Stateroom B. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS 1. Remove approximately 30 square feet of plush carpet. located in each Masters stateroom, and office. Template from existing and replace carpet, using USCG approved carpet. Provide sample to Master for choice of color and style. 2. Remove all interference?s and reinstall when completed, cover with plastic sheet, all non-removable interference?s. Remove Threshold and adjacent tile and deck underlayment. 3. Remove damaged/Deteriorated underlayment. Mechanical clean exposed deck surface, power tool rusted areas to (SSPC-SP11), for estimating purposes assume 10% will require power tool cleaning. All dirt, debris, and liquids resulting from this work shall be removed from the ship daily and all areas involved left clean. MSCREP to approve surface preparation. 4. Wipe down power cleaned areas with Ameron #65 thinner or similar. Apply one spot coat of Ameron Bar Rust 235 Buff to achieve 5 mils dft to all mechanically cleaned areas. 5. Install new epoxy underlayment, and deck covering where disturbed. C. ACCEPTANCE 1. To the satisfaction of the MSC RE MESS HALL CABINET & COUNTERTOP, REPLACEMENT VRR 03-072, VRR 03-073 (SO Sch 164) A. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS 1. Installation of the Officers and Crew's Mess Hall cabinets and countertops shall be completed five (5) days prior to contract completion. 2. Work to be coordinated with work item 602 3. Detach, dispose existing cabinets and counter tops in the crews and officer's mess hall. 4. Refurbish sinks, faucets and associated plumbing and drains. Mechanically clean, prime and paint disturbed areas. 5. Provide and install stainless steel cabinets and countertops of similar design. Renew all flashing around cabinets and countertops. Stainless steel materials shall be marine grade or equivalent (19 gauge or better). Remount coffee makers, etc., on countertops. B. CREW'S MESSHALL Sink Cabinet: 22" W x 24" D x 30" H Sink: 14.5" x 17.5" Door Openings: 21" W x 21" H 2 Doors: 10.5" W x 20" H Counter Top: 50" W x 25" D with 4" H Splash Guard Silverware Cabinet: 36" W x 21.5" D x 30" H 2 Drawers: 17" W x 6" H Door Openings: 34.5" W x 20" H 2 Doors: 17.25" W x 20" H Counter Top: 37" x 22" D with 4" H Splash Guard C. OFFICER'S MESSHALL Sink Cabinet - Same as Crew's Messhall Silverware Cabinet - Same as Crew's Messhall Counter Tops 83" W x 24" D with 4" H Splash Guard 39" W x 22" D with 4" H Splash Guard D. ACCEPTANCE MSCREP to inspect and accept final installation, ready for sea. This is a total small business set-aside. Only written (fax or email) requests will be accepted. Ship checks can be made on board USNS Sioux at Naval Station, San Diego until 10 April 2004 or on board USNS SIOUX, at offeror?s risk, at San Diego Naval Base, 32nd St. Ship Check visits must be coordinated with the contracting specialist at which time a complete list of items to be removed, fabricated, and or installed will be provided.
