Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This Request for Quotation incorporates provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 01-12. The NAICS Code is 333612. The small business size standard is 1,000. This is an unrestricted procurement. The contract will be awarded as a firm fixed price supply contract using simplified acquisition procedures in accordance with FAR Part 13.5. The requirement is for component parts for the reduction gears installed on board POLAR class icebreakers; the reduction gears are manufactured by the Philadelphia Gear Company. The Form, Fit and Function of these parts must be exactly compatible with the existing reduction gears and is critical to the safe operation of the cutters. It is the government's belief that only Philadelphia Gear or its authorized distributors can provide these critical parts. Note: No Drawings, Specifications or schematics are available from this agency. That information is proprietary to Philadelphia Gear Company and the Coast Guard is unable to supply any information other than part name and part number to prospective offerors. However, other potential sources having the expertise and required capabilities to manufacture these parts to OEM specifications are invited to submit proposals. The following information must be provided to evaluate past performance: evidence of past successful manufacture to OEM specifications, for the government or the OEM, of all required parts. CLIN 0001, Disconnect Coupling Hub, P/N 50290-0493, quantity 1 each. Required parts are as follows. CLIN 0002, Disconnect Coupling Flange, P/N 50290-048, quantity 1 each. CLIN 0003 Disconnect Coupling Sleeve, P/N 50290-0490, quantity 1 each. CLIN 0004, L.S. Floating Seal Ring, P/N 50-308-0166-3, quantity 1 each. CLIN 0005, Coupling Shifting Spider, P/N 50-307-0219-2, quantity 1 each. CLIN 0006, Coupling, Sliding Bearing, P/N 50-280-0450-1. CLIN 0007 O Ring, Split, P/N S-175. CLIN 0008, L.S. Oil Seal Retainer Pl., P/N 50-085-0697-3. Place of delivery is USCG Naval Engineering Support Unit Seattle, 1519 Alaskan Way South, Seattle, WA 98134-1192. Delivery of all items must occur not later than 11 JUL 2003. Quotations submitted in response to this solicitation must include: (1) CLIN number, item name, part number, and unit/extended prices; (2) proposed delivery after receipt of order in calendar days for each CLIN; (3) past performance information as required above (4) verification that each item shall be individually preserved, packaged, marked, bar-coded and shipped in accordance with best commercial practices; (5) taxpayer identification and Dun & Bradstreet (DUNS) number; (6) Contractors full name, address, and telephone number.
