Description

The Contractor shall conduct Laguna Mountains Skipper (Pyrgus ruralis lagunae) presence/absence surveys at certain sites within the Cleveland National Forest during the 2004 field season. A qualified biologist must conduct surveys. Survey areas are within or immediately adjacent to the Laguna Mountains Recreation Area, Descanso Ranger District, San Diego County, California plus one survey site at Palomar Mountain, Palomar Ranger District. Surveyors shall survey weekly between April 15 and June 15 of each calendar year for a total of 8 survey visits to each site. This contract may potentially be extended up to four additional years if funding is available. There are a total of 134 acres, which must be surveyed, all within the Descanso and Palomar Ranger Districts of the Cleveland National Forest. Minor changes to survey locations may occur in subsequent years. Contractor must possess a current, valid 10a permit from the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service authorizing surveys for the Laguna Mountains Skipper and the contractor must adhere to the terms of that permit.
