Description
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) intends to issue a solicitation for performing on-site compliance audit services of respirator manufacturers. These services would include preparing, conducting, and reporting audits to certify compliance with standards found in 42 CFR 84, ISO 9000 Quality Standards, and the NIOSH Standard Application Procedures for respirator certification. The contractor's auditors must be knowledgeable of Quality Systems Standards and NIOSH respirator specific quality and performance requirements. Auditors will review approval holder quality documentation and respirator specific requirements to prepare for the audit, conduct on-site compliance audits, write the report of audit, and evaluate the acceptability of any corrective actions. It is anticipated that 15 sites will be audited prior to 30 November 2004. These site visits will occur during five (5) trips to the following cities: Southbridge, MA; Branford, CT; Cranston, RI, Exton, PA; Monroeville, PA; Evans City, PA; Livingston, TX; Lawrenceville, GA; South Haven, MI; Pleasant Prairie, WI; Fridley, MN; Spring Valley, MN and Santa Ana, CA. All approval holder documentation and audit results are confidential. A confidentiality statement provided by NIOSH must be signed by all contractor employees who have access to approval holder information prior to preparing and conducting any audits. NIOSH will provide the respirator specific requirements and approval documentation needed to conduct the on-site compliance audits. Solicitation 2004-N-01178 will be available on or about 13 February 2004 and proposals due by 26 March 2004. Solicitation documents will also be available at www.eps.gov. THIS REQUIREMENT IS SET ASIDE FOR SMALL BUSINESS CONCERNS. The NAICS code is 541990 and the small business size is $6 million dollars.
