Description

The Department of Air Force is seeking qualified entities for a housing privatization project at Dover AFB, Delaware. The project is a real estate transaction to privatize military family housing at Dover AFB, and it provides a unique opportunity for top quality firms to assist in the development, operation and financing of this family housing privatization effort. Specifically, the Air Force is seeking qualified entities to own, renovate, operate, and maintain 980 Family Housing Units on Dover AFB for the benefit of Air Force families for at least 50 years. The project will include conveyance of 1,222 existing units including 212 new units. The project will require demolition of 1,010 units and construction of 768 replacement units. The Air Force will also convey 76 acres of land, 298 existing units and other improvements (except water wells and rights) at Eagle Meadows, which is located 3.5 miles from the Base. The developer will contribute the value of Eagle Meadows to the on-base housing privatization project. The Air Force's goal is to provide military families access to safe, quality, affordable, well-maintained housing in a community where they will choose to live. An Industry Forum will be conducted on February 25-26, 2004 at the Dover Downs Hotel and Conference Center, Dover, DE. The purpose of the forum is to provide pertinent information on the project.
