Description

The Norfolk District is offering for sale approximately 4,218 tons of standing pine sawtimber, 595 tons of standing pine chip-and-saw, 2,667 tons of standing pine pulpwood, 2,210 tons of standing hardwood sawtimber, and 2,378 tons of standing hardwoo d pulpwood on approximately 123 acres at Fort Pickett, Blackstone, Virginia. The total number of items for this sale is three (3). The timber to be sold may be inspected by prospective purchasers through February 24, 2004. Arrangements for inspections s hould be made by contacting Mr. Paul Carter, telephone (434) 292-8428. Sealed bids will be accepted until 2:00 p.m., February 26, 2005, by the Acquisition, Management, and Disposal Section, Real Estate Branch, Norfolk District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineer s, 803 Front Street, Norfolk, Virginia 23510-1096, and then and there publicly opened and announced. Forms for use in submitting bids may be obtained from Mr. Berggren at Fort A.P. Hill, Mr. Paul Carter at Fort Pickett, or from the Acquisition, Management , and Disposal Section, address shown above. Terms and conditions of sale, procedure for submitting bids, and a description of the timber are contained in the bid forms. This sale will be sold by WEIGHT.
