- Description
- NASA/GRC plans to issue an Invitation for Bids(IFB)for Project A- renovation of Electric Propulsion Research Bldg.No.16 and, Project B-high vacuum system equipment installation in same bldg. The work for both Projects requires all labor, materials and equipment, and includes demolition of existing building structures and installation of new rooms, floors, windows, doors, plumbing, piping, fire protection, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, misc. electrical, lead/mercury/asbestos abatement, and necessary equipment and controls for high vacuum system operation. The order of magnitude for the procurement is in range of $5-10 million and the effort is to be completed within 360 calendar days after issuance of notice to proceed. Both Projects will be worked concurrently. This procurement is a total small business set-aside. The NAICS Code and small business size standard for this procurement are 236220 and $28.5 million respectively. The anticipated release date of the IFB is on or about Feb.6,2004, with an anticipated offer closing date of on or about March 15,2004. The firm date for receipt of bids or proposals will be stated in the IFB. Drawings will be available for purchase from source stated in IFB. All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See NASA Specific Note "B". The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement [with the exception of drawings] will be available over the Internet. These documents will be in Microsoft Office 97 format and will reside on a World-Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application. FAR 52.236-27 Site Visit (Construction) (Feb 1995) Alternate I (Feb 1995) (a) The clauses at 52.236-2, Differing Site Conditions, and 52.236-3, Site Investigations and Conditions Affecting the Work, will be included in any contract awarded as a result of the solicitation. Accordingly, offerors or quoters are urged and expected to inspect the site where the work will be performed. (b) An organized site visit will be held in accordance with information provided in the IFB. (End of Provision) All contractual and technical questions must be submitted in writing.
