- NOTICE OF INTENT TO NEGOTIATE A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT WITH WOODS HOLE OCEANOGRAPHIC INSTITUTION (WHOI) TO CALIBRATE THE A MULTIBEAM SONAR FOR THE NATIONAL MARINE FISHERIES SERVICE (NMFS). NMFS ECHOSOUNDERS AND MULTIBEAM SONARS MUST BE CALIBRATED IN ORDER TO MAKE QUANTITATIVE MEASUREMENTS OF FISH BIOMASS DURING ACOUSTIC SURVEYS. CALIBRATION IS ALSO NECESSARY TO MEET REQUIREMENTS OF SURVEY WRITTEN PROTOCOLS AND QUALITY ASSURANCE. WHOI IS UNIQUELY QUALIFIED AND EQUIPPED TO CONDUCT THE NECESSARY CALIBREATIONS. WORK MUST CONTINUE WITH THE WHOI APPLIED OCEAN PHYSICS AND ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT IN ORDER FOR DATA COLLECTED TO BE MEASURABLE AGAINST PREVIOUS YEARS? DATA. THIS IS A SIMPLIFIED ACQUISITION WITH AN ESTIMATED VALUE OF LESS THAN $100,000. The Western Administrative Support Center, Acquisition Management Division, requires that all contractors doing business with this Acquisition Office must be registered with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR) before October 1, 2003. After this date, NO award can be made unless the vender is registered in CCR. For additional information and to register in CCR please access the following web site: http://www.ccr.gov/.
