Description
Taji Power Plant and Electrical Distribution (8 MW) DESCRIPTION OF WORK - GENERAL Except as otherwise expressly provided herein, the Contractor shall supply all adequate and competent labor, supervision, tools, equipment, consumable materials, services, testing devices and every item of expense necessary for the supply, handling, haulin g, unloading, receiving, construction, testing, commissioning, and startup for the construction of an electrical system as described within the contract documents, at Taji Military Complex, Iraq. The Electrical System includes the following: Power Plant Medium-Voltage Switchgear Medium-Voltage Distribution Low Voltage Distribution (as required for Transformer Stations ) Grounding (Earthing) This work will be coordinated with any ongoing civil, mechanical and housing work being completed in the same location during the same time frame to minimize interferences. DESCRIPTION OF WORK - SPECIFIC The Work described in this section shall include, but not be limited to, the following: Contractor Scope of Work Power Plant: This shall include the procurement, installation, testing, commissioning, and startup of the addition to the existing Power Plant in accordance with the contract documents. The Power Plant shall include a 7-day supply of fuel storage and ne cessary manifolds and piping from the tanks to the generators. Fuel storage tank shall be steel construction. Seven-day fuel supply shall be calculated as fuel consumption of all generators running at 70 percent capacity 24 hours per day for 7 days. The C ontractor shall provide concrete pads for fuel tanks, generator, and switchgear. Medium-Voltage Switchgear: This shall include the installation, testing, commissioning, and energizing of the Power Distribution Centers (PDCs), and as specified in the contract documents. Medium-Voltage Distribution: This shall include the procurement, installation, testing, commissioning, and energizing the high voltage distribution system in accordance with the scope of work. High voltage cables are both aerial and below grade. This includes all underground cables f rom the Power Plant to the Primary Side of the new Main Switchgear, and from the Secondary Side of the new Main. Switchgear to the pole risers of the Overhead Circuits. At riser poles, Contractor shall provide and install all underground cabling, splicin g, and terminations for new Transformer Stations. Contractor shall trench for below-grade cables. Underground cabling may be open trench construction. Low Voltage Distribution: This includes the procurement, installation, testing, commissioning and energizing the Low Voltage Distribution System in accordance with the Scope of Work. This includes control voltage for the generator panels and power distribution centers for each generator with control voltage transformers, and controls to the existing control building. Exterior cabling shall be both below grade and ab ove grade. The Contractor shall trench for below grade cables. For above grade cables, the contactor shall install cables in conduits. Grounding System: This shall include the procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning the Grounding (Earthing) System as stated in these documents. As a minimum, the system shall include all ground, cables, and terminations for the Grounding Syst em. A 21 mm X 3000 mm copper-clad ground rods shall be used. Each additional fuel tank and generator set under this contract shall have a minimum of two ground rod points.
