Description
The National Weather Service is seeking information on the availability of a commercial off the shelf (COTS) thermometer shelter and sensor assembly. A performance specification is not available at this time. However, Government specifications and drawings used to procure units previously, are available. Firms are invited to review the current drawings and specifications. Comments and suggestions are welcomed. The Government requests information on COTS products that may be capable of meeting the Government?s need. All information received in response to this RFI that is marked PROPRIETARY will be handled accordingly. Responses to the RFI will not be returned. In accordance with FAR 15.202(e), responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. Responders are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this RFI. This is NOT a request for proposal. No solicitation exists at this time. Information received will be used by the Government to determine if a COTS product will meet the Governments need. DISCLAIMER - This RFI is issued solely for informational and planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation. Requests should include a mailing address and an e-mail address and include information regarding the size of the business (large or small) based on NAICS 33999. The size standard for a small business is 750 employees. Any request for a copy of the existing specification and drawings may be sent to Jackie Shewmaker (jackie.a.shewmaker@noaa.gov) or Donita McCullough (donita.s.mccullough@noaa.gov) or faxed to either of their attention at (816) 426-5067. Reference 66-RFI-DM-JAS. Phone inquiries of a technical nature regarding the current specifications and drawings will not be entertained. FOR YOUR INFORMATION: Any firm doing business with the Government must have a Dun and Bradstreet number (DUNS),and be registered in the Central Contractor Registry (CCR). If you do not have a DUNS number, call Dun & Bradstreet, Inc., at 1-866-705-5711 or 610-882-7000. There is no cost to obtain a DUNS number. You must have a DUNS number in order register in the CCR. CCR registration can be accomplished on the web at http://www.ccr.gov.
