- Description
- Project generally consists of, but is not limited to the following: 1.) Remove/dispose of all existing Acoustical Wall Panels (AWP) and underlying gypsum board as Microbial Contaminated Materials (MCM) and Microbial Contaminated Elements (MCE) in Room 102(48x40x9)and Room 110(40x28x9). Removal of the AWP and underlying gypsum board from the floor to the roof deck, in strict accordance with local, state and federal regulations. 2.) Clean all surfaces exposed to microbial contamination in the affected rooms. Wiping and HEPA vacuuming of all surfaces in the affected rooms. 3.) Replace all materials removed, with the exception of the AWP. This shall include but is not limited to fire retardant drywall, insulating materials, suspended ceiling elements, steel furring strips and steel studs. Drywall shall be finished and painted prior to completion of the project. 4.) Seal all openings/penetrations in drywall with a firestopping sealant. 5.) Remove part of the existing acoustical ceiling tile and grid, around the perimeter of the room, to allow the removal of the MCM and MCE. Re-install the ceiling tile and grid. Provide/install a wider grid member at the room perimeters. 6.) Move all cabinets, furniture, items on walls, etc. and return to the same location. Moving/re-stall the Pilot Briefing counter located in Room 102. FAA shall move any electronic equipment. 7.) Remove existing carpet and replace with Government Furnished Material(GFM) which is the Tate Concore/Posilock system. GFM includes pedestals crowns, floor panels, carpet and hardware. The contractor shall supply the Tate approved adhesive to adhere the pedestals to the exising concrete subfloor. Also be responsible for moving consoles/equipment racks and return to original locations. 8.) All work in rooms 102/110 shall be accomplished at night. 9.) This is a 24-hour a day/seven-day a week facility and that operations shall continue during the work. One half of room 102 shall be remediated at a time. This means that half the room (102) will be completed prior to completing second half. Room 110 will have to remain fully operational throughout the duration of the project. All enclosures shall be erected around the equipment racks and FAA technicians will require access to equipment. Due to potential overheating, the equipment shall not be wrapped in plastic or poly.
