- NAICS Code: 334516 The U.S. EPA, National Homeland Security Research Center, located in Cincinnati, OH intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with the Kentek Corporation for the upgrade of an EPA owned barrier system, manufactured by the Kentek Corporation. The EPA plans to purchase 32 Laser Protective Barrier Systems, 1 Light Blocking Strip, 5 laser protective window shades, and 2 sets of protective eyewear for YAG and Argon lasers. This notice is not a request for quotations. EPA source research indicates the Kentek Corporation is the only known source able to satisfy the government's requirements. As the manufacturer of the EPA owned barrier system, the Kentek Corporation is the only known source able to upgrade the system with the compatible components necessary to operate the lasers. However, any firm believing itself capable of meeting EPA requirements may submit technical documentation to establish the potential of supplying such items. Any such documentation must be submitted within 15 days of electronic posting of this notice (before February 19, 2004 at 5:00 PM EST). A determination not to compete the proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement or to proceed on a sole source basis. This acquisition is being processed under FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The applicable NAICS code is 334516.
