Description
The Logistics Management Division, Code 230, of the Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) is soliciting rates from local companies (DC area) to perform office/laboratory/modular/systems furniture moves in and around GSFC on a recurring basis. Performance of these moves for GSFC will be for one year with options to extend for three more years. These moves could include: (1) normal movement of office/laboratory equipment; (2) movement of modular/systems furniture, which for small moves, would include the redesign of such furniture; (3) temporary storage of this equipment/furniture; and (4) transfer of equipment and excess furniture to processing sites. Therefore, rates for local, temporary storage are also being solicited. Small moves, defined as 5 or fewer people, and larger moves will be accomplished on an as required basis. We try to provide five days notice. This year, 2004, looks to be an average year as to number of moves. Modular/Systems Furniture: The company shall provide all necessary personnel, materials, equipment and services for inventory, transportation, storage, pull parts, redesign, and reinstallation of both new and used modular/systems furniture. The company shall disassemble, redesign and install various brands of modular/systems furniture. Haworth, American Seating, Steelcase, GF, SMED, Knoll, Herman Miller, and Kimball are some of the brands located on Center. Sometimes furniture may require staging or storing at the company's facility. Disassembly, redesign, transportation, reconfiguration, and reinstallation services will be required for as few as one workstation or up to 50 or more workstations per job. However, there are no guaranteed quantities or exclusive right to provide the services. Volume will be as required. Furniture Redesign: The company shall redesign modular/systems furniture layouts for small jobs (1 to 5 workstations). The company shall coordinate the redesign with both the customer and GSFC Code 230 interior designers. A GSFC Code 230 designer will usually design large open space jobs (6 workstations or more). If your company is interested and capable of performing these services, contact Fritz Ankerman prior to COB February 13, 2004, for a formal solicitation. We will be holding pre-bid conferences on February 10 and 11, 2004 at Goddard.
