Description
This is a SOURCES SOUGHT Synopsis for ecological unit inventory, soil survey, and mapping services. The NAICS code for this project is 115310. The USDA Forest Service is seeking to identify potential HUBZone-certified small business firms that would be capable of completing a Firm-Fixed-Price, Indefinite Quantities, five-year contract. A single award contract is anticipated with yearly quantities estimated at 100,000 acres for survey and 1,000,000 for digital map updates. The general scope of work includes performing a Terrestrial Ecological Unit Inventory (TEUI), which is similar intensity to an Order III Soil Survey, an integrated, multi-resource inventory of soil, landform, vegetation and lithology, on lands within the administrative boundary of the Umatilla and Wallowa-Whitman National Forests, excluding wilderness and National Recreation Areas. Services also include correlation and management of spatial and attribute data for previous TEUI on the Wallowa-Whitman, Umatilla, and Malheur National Forests. Contractors interested in performing these services may respond by sending a brief statement describing their firm?s experience, capabilities, and small business size classification, including whether or not your firm is HUBZone-certified to mkklingler@fs.fed.us no later than February 18, 2004. This is not an announcement of availability of a solicitation. After review of the responses submitted, a solicitation will be published in the Federal Business Opportunities in March 2004. This market research is being used to determine solicitation set-asides and shall not be construed as a request for proposal or as an obligation on the part of the Government.
