- Description
- NASA/JSC has a requirement for a AACS Automatic Accelerometer Calibration System. NASA/JSC intends to purchase the items from Endevco Corporation and/or it distributors, per a justification pursuant to FAR 13.106 for the aquisition of supplies or services determined to be reasonably available from only one source. Only one responsible source will satisfy agency requirements. The Endevco Model AACS Automatic Accelerometer Calibration System is the only known product that can meet all of the following requirements. These required specifications that only the Edevco system can meet are: automated accelerometer calibration from 2 Hz to 50 kHz within a single accelerometer shaker, capable of calibrating piezoelectric accelerometers or those requiring external power, capable of performing mounted resonance to 50 kHz, compatible with Microsoft Access database and Excel XP, and includes published Error Uncertainty Analysis. All of the above requirements are necessary to accomplish various tests at NASA WSTF. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on Feb. 12, 2004. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
