Description

The Social Security Administration, Region II, seeks a contractor to remove existing roll-up garage door and furnish and install what is referred to in the trade as a High Speed Roll-Up Garage Door. The door replacement is located at the entrance/exit ramp of the Joseph P. Addabbo Federal Building parking garage. The facility is located in Jamaica, Queens, New York. This roll-up door is considered to be commercial in type. The basic requirements are: exterior face of anodized aluminum and an interior face of rigid polyvinyl chloride and capped with nylon end caps and full perimeter gaskets. Slats to be filled and unitized with pour-type polyurethane. Door shall withstand a minimum of 30 PSF exterior wind load (110 mph). ? Power drive system to be hydraulically operated with chain driven for smooth, high speed operation. The open cycle to be at a minimum rate of 42 inches per second and a minimum closing rate of 20 inches per second. The drive system will incorporate a manual operating chain in the event of power failure. The Request for Quotations (RFQ) with complete specifications will be issued on approximately February 17, 2004 and may be downloaded at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. Paper copies of the RFQ may also be requested in writing from the point of contact listed in this notice. A site-visit will be conducted prior to the RFQ due date. This is a 100% small business set-aside. The NAICS code is 399999. All responsible small businesses may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.
