MODIFICATION NO. 2 IS HEREBY ISSUED TO REVISE DOCUMENT TYPE IN THE ORIGINAL ANNOUNCEMENT FROM "PRESOLICITATION NOTICE" TO "COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION, CLARIFY INFORMATION GIVEN IN MODFICATION NO.1 AND TO REVISE THE DOCUMENT TYPE FROM "MODIFICATION TO A PREVIOUS PRESOLICITATION NOTICE" TO "MODIFICATION TO A PREVIOUSLY ANNOUNCED PROCUREMENT" Below are additional responses by the Government regarding questions under RP 33569. Specifics for this solicitation shall be found in the RFP Letter with all attachments on the GovWorks website at: http://govworks.gov/vendor/csolicit.asp. NO PHONE CALL CONCERNING THIS ACQUISITION WILL BE ACCEPTED. DUE TO TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS, Questions regarding this announcement will be extended until February 12, 2004 at 2:00 PM EST. If you would like to participate in this acquisition, you may find all documents regarding this announcement on the following website: http://govworks.gov/vendor/csolicit.asp. The technical and price proposals have also been extended and are now due February 25, 2004, at 3:30 PM EST-LATE PROPOSALS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. RFQ letter contains specific instuctions and evaluation factors. Q1. Will the existing Cameras Robotroncs be used in the new install. or will new cameras need to be quoted? A1. The robotronics cameras will not be used for this new install. Please read the posted PWS in its entirety - we are seeking to obtain a digital video bus surveillance camera system. Q2. Gov PE will this hardware be able to be modified to meet the requirement for the new installation, like can a hard-drive be added for archiving only video stream clips . and a drive be added to except a removable storage disk. 3. Would the end user be interested in a wireless download/upload from the parked buses, Thus eliminating hard ware to be touched by end user. A2. Again, please read the requirements stated in the posted PWS and all posted supporting documentation. It is up to the offeror to provide information of this nature in their proposal. Q&A for On-Board Vehicle Surveillance System (OBVSS) 1) Q: What type of vehicles does this RFP refer to? A: Reference: PWS, section 2.2.1.3 2) Q: What type of surveillance system(s) equipment this RFP calls for, i.e. infrared cameras, color CCD cameras, or both, or other types of equipment? A: Please review the posted PWS - our specifications are contained in this document. 3) Q: Would 1 channel of synchronized audio be acceptable? Adding the second channel of synched audio adds substantially to the cost of a recorder. If two channels are required, can we mix them onto one channel of recorded audio? A: Please review the posted PWS - our specifications are contained in this document. 4) Q: What are the specifications for audio? Indoor, outdoor, listening range? Etc. A: The PWS explains the size and length of the buses. Please see Section 1.1.2 of the posted PWS for intended use. 5) Q: Are the disk drives for the DVR's to be Hot-swappable, or will the power be turned off to the unit before removing the drive? A: Please review the posted PWS for the requirement. 6) Q: What is the shipping address for the equipment? A: What is the objective for the determination of the shipping information? 7) Q: What is the number of video cameras that each unit must accommodate? A: Please see paragraph 2.2.1.3.1 and paragraph 3.1. 1.1 of the PWS. 8) Q: How much on-board video recording storage is required in # of days?
