- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and A WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through the Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2001-13, Defense Acquisition Circular (DAC) 91-13 and Air Force Acquisition Circular (AFAC) 2003-0501. The North American Industry Classification System is 32190. The BID SCHEDULE shall be for : 0001 Box constructed to fit in Rigging Zodiac F470U Boat. * The following materials and procedures are offered as a guideline. However, all interested parties must attend a MANDATORY site visit on 11 Feb 04 at 0930 or 9:30 A.M. EST. Contractors will be responsible for all measurements and must supply a detailed drawing with building procedures in their quotation. Box shall be assembled by manufacturer with the following materials, 2 each 3/16 inch X 1.5 inch aluminum angle iron, 2 each 3/16 inch X 2 inch aluminum angle iron, 16 each 1.5 inch X 1/4 inch stainless steel bolts with nuts and washers, 600 lbs of Dow Ethafoam (honeycomb) for 2 ends measuring 3/4 inch X 17 inch X 18 inch; A/B oiled Marine grade plywood, 2 each for the bottom skids measuring 3/4 inch X 48 inch X 48 inch plywood; 2 each sides measuring 3/4 inch X 17 inch X 51 inch. Construction... (1.) Drill 1/2-inch holes in a 3/4 X 48 X 48 inch piece of plywood; this will be the bottom. (2.) Drill 1/2-inch holes in two 3/4 X 17 X 51 inch pieces of plywood; these will be the sides. (3.) Cut a 2 X 1/2 inch slot in each side 19 inches from the front edge and 4 inches from the top. (4.) Cut two 3/4 X 17 X 18 inch pieces of honeycomb as the ends. (5.) Join the ends and sides of the box with 17-inch lengths of angled aluminum or dexion braces. Fit the ends of the box to the outside edges of the sides. (6.) Drill four holes (one at each end of the brace and two evenly spaced between the end holes.) Install bolts and nuts using 1.5-inch diameter fender washers under each bolt and each nut. (7.) Center the sides of the box over the bottom so that the ends overhang the bottom 1.5 inches at the front and rear. (8.) Join each end of the box to the bottom with a 14-inch length of angled aluminum or dexion. Drill holes and install fasteners and washers as in step 6.. Note that the total overhang at each end for a 51-inch box is 2 1/4 inches. (9.) Join each side of the box to the bottom with a 20-inch length of angled aluminum or dexion centered along each side. Drill holes and install fasteners and washers as in step 6. (10.) Sew a V-ring to a 30-inch length of type VIII nylon webbing. (11.) Attach a parachute harness snap to another 30-inch length of type VIII nylon webbing using the friction adapter on the snap. Make a pull handle for the snap as in step 4. (12.) With the snap opening facing the inside of the box, attach the strap with the parachute harness snap to the slot on the left side of the box using a friction adapter. (13.) Attach the strap with the V-ring to the slot on the right side of the box with a friction adapter. (14.) Place one 13 X 17 inch piece of foam padding in each front side of the box. Secure them with type III nylon cord tied through the holes in the sides of the box. Construction and materials must be in accordance with TO 13C7-51-21. FOB POINT: Destination price must include shipping. Provision at FAR 52.212-1, Instruction to Offerors Commercial Items applies to this acquisition. The following addenda is provided to this provision: Request for Quotation should be submitted and shall contain the following information: SOLICITATION NUMBER; TIME SPECIFIED FOR RECEIPT OF OFFERS; NAME; ADDRESS; TELEPHONE NUMBER OF OFFEROR; TERMS OF THE EXPRESSED WARRANTY; PRICE, ANY DISCOUNT TERMS AND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF ALL SOLICITATION AMENDMENTS. Quotes must indicate quantity, unit price and total amount. Offerors that fail to furnish the required information, or reject the terms and conditions of the solicitation may be excluded from consideration. EVALUATION/AWARD: IAW FAR 52.212-2, Evaluation-Commercial Items, the Government will award a purchase order resulting from this solicitation to the responsive responsible low offeror that is found technically acceptable. All offerors MUST BE CENTRAL CONTRACTOR REGISTERED (CCR).
