Description
Contracting Office Address: Executive Officer for United States Attorneys, 600 E Street NW, Suite 2400, Washington, DC 20530. Request for Information The U. S. Department of Justice, Executive Office for U. S. Attorneys (EOUSA) is seeking contractors with expertise in establishing, managing, operating, monitoring, and analyzing an Instruction Detection System (IDS) for a large, geographically dispersed organization covering the continental United States its territories and possessions. All GSA Schedule 70 contractors that have a in-depth knowledge and experience in developing, managing, operating, managing, monitoring, and analyzing IDS are encouraged to respond to this RFI. Respondents should reference RFI number RFQ-EOA02-4-0042 and include the company name, GSA Schedule Number, fax number, and the name, telephone number, and email address of a point of contact. Respondents are encouraged to comment on the attached Statement of Work (SOW). EOUSA is interested in learning what additional information should be provided in the SOW, what changes are recommended, and any other modifications that respondents believe would provide a higher level of clarity to the requirement and encourage more responses to the RFQ to improve the quality of the submitted proposals. Mr. Ervin Spivey, Ph: (202) 616-6434, FAX: SAME Background Information EOUSA operates an Intrusion Detection System (IDS) across the United States Attorneys? Organization (USAO) Wide-Area Network (WAN), and requires management and monitoring service for this (IDS) 24 hours a day, 7 days a week 365 days a year. The IDS, currently based on an established industry offering, provides information regarding network and system integrity, data confidentiality & availability, and compliance with Information Technology (IT) usage policies. The IDS architecture is comprised of network-based sensors (approximately 250), host-based server sensors (approximately 600), and management components that provide statistical correlation, analysis, and reporting tools. EOUSA operates an Intrusion Detection System (IDS) across the United States Attorneys? Organization (USAOs) Wide-Area Network (WAN) and requires 24X7X365 service for this (IDS). The IDS, currently based on an established industry offering, provides event alerting for suspected intrusions, intrusion attempts, malware activations, and system misuse. Both network-based and host-based sensors are employed. EOUSA intends to establish a solicitation requirement to obtain a contractor for the purpose of continuing the enhancing, managing, operating, monitoring, and analyzing the IDS. EOUSA does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this RFI or otherwise pay for the information provided in response to this RFI.
