Description
The Naval Sea Systems Command has a requirement for a System Integrator/Design Agent (SI/DA) to develop a single track management function for the Navy?s Open Architecture program that is compliant with the Open Architecture Functional Architecture (OA FA) Design Document ? Version 2.0, November 2003. The SI/DA base year contract will implement the Joint Single Integrated Air Picture (SIAP) Systems Engineering Organization (JSSEO) product that is developed with a model driven architecture framework on Navy platforms and address evolving Open Architecture initiatives related to track management and sensor netting. Any future year options, if exercised, will implement new functionality. The SI/DA will be expected to integrate and coordinate engineering efforts with the designated Systems Integrators of specified Navy programs (i.e. DD(X), E-2, LCS, etc.). The Program Executi ve Office for Integrated Warfare Systems (PEO IWS), Command and Control (Network/EXCOMM) Directorate ? (IWS 6.0) is responsible for the Navy?s sensor fusion systems, computers, displays, and navigation systems. IWS 6.0 works closely with PEO C4I and Space as well as the JSSEO to improve joint interoperability and ensure compatibility with the Global Information Grid (GIG). The OA approach is a transformational shift in system architecture design and acquisition. OA is a multifaceted strategy providing a framework for developing Joint interoperable warfare systems that adapt and exploit open system design principles and architectures. It is anticipated that a Request For Proposals will be released in late February 2004. A five-year contract is contemplated with Cost Plus Award Fee terms.*****
