Description
NASA/MSFC has a requirement for a valve box and an industrial monitor to be used with an existing fire spray nozzle system. Details: Valve Box Valve Box/Hydraulic Source, contains three 4-way solenoid activated hydraulic valves, hydraulic pump/motor/tank unit, box will have terminal strips for electrical hook up, all hydraulic connections .375-od tube fittings, hydaulic pump/motor/tank unit Qty: 1 Industrial Monitor Remote controlled industrial monitors for fire protection, with m-100BHP automatic nozzle flows up to 1000 gpm, material corrosion-resistant brass construction, hydraulic driven actuators for horizontal and vertical movement, actuators must be built Qty: 1 NASA/MSFC intends to purchase the items from North American Fire Equipment Company. Competition is impractical because this fire spray nozzle system is currently used on all new systems throughout NASA/MSFC's test area. All control personnel are familiar with the equipment's operation. Obtaining equipment from a different manufacturer would necessiate retraining of numerous personnel and cause a disruption in ability to operate in a safe environment. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to Iris Walter, Eagle Systems & Services, Inc. via fax at 256-544-4789 or email at iris.walter@msfc.nasa.gov not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on February 26, 2004. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
