- Description
- The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) has a requirement for the Development and Implementation of Pavement Preservation Technology Transfer Activities. The objective of this study is to define the elements of typical highway maintenance and construction work activities that require workers to be on the roadway with traffic, and to establish the functional requirements and performance specifications for a highly-mobile protection system to workers under such conditions. The study will investigate the feasibility of a new highly-mobile protection system or device. The feasibility will be dictated by identifying types of work that could be made safer by such a system, and determining whether such a device can be cost-effectively constructed and operated. The FHWA is seeking responsible offerors who can provide the services outlined in the solicitation. This requirement will be awarded on an unrestricted basis.
