Description
Anniston Army Depot (ANAD) has a requirement for replacement mesh pads for two demisters. The demisters are KCH Spectra U-IV vertical flow mist eliminator systems that capture hexavalent chromium mist from two hard chromium-electroplating lines. Ea ch washed stage consists of four polyethylene encapsulations containing multi-layer polypropylene mesh pads. These systems were designed and manufactured by KCH Services, Incorporated, Forest City, North Carolina. The total four stage filtration systems must restrict chromium emissions to not more than 0.015 milligrams of total chromium per standard cubic meter of ventilation air. The original equipment was qualified through emissions testing. ANAD requires two replacement encapsulated mesh pad sets for stage two and one replacement set for stage three of the Spectra U-IV 56, 000 CFM and two replacement sets for stage two and one replacement set for stage three of the Spectra U-IV 22,000 CFM. Interested companies are requested to provide brochures, li terature, specifications, and published price lists, showing they can meet these requirements not later than 7 days after synopsis appears in the FedBizOpps. Before a contract is awarded potential contractors must verify the performance of their encapsula ted mesh pads by removing the installed stage two and three pads, installing their replacements and conducting an environmental test, on each system, in accordance with 40 Code of Federal Regulations 63.340.
