Description

The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) intends to negotiate on a sole-source basis a one year contract with Academy Health, 1801 K Street NW, Suite 701-L, Washington, DC 20006 for a project entitled "NIAAA Health Services Research Newsletter and Annual Meeting." The statutory authority to negotiate with Academy Health is 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) under FAR 6.302-1. The purpose of the proposed contract is to produce and disseminate two issues of an NIAAA sponsored newsletter, linking the producers and users of health services research in the field of alcohol abuse and alcoholism, in the Academy Health publication Frontlines, and to provide support to Academy Health for the planning, development, and convening of an annual conference on Health Services Research. Academy Health is the only national membership organization formed solely to promote the field of health services research and to promote and strengthen the relationship between the users and producers of research. As such, it has a unique perspective on the field of alcohol related health services research, both in terms of the state of scientific progress, and knowledge of what sorts of information are useful to the consumers of alcohol related health services research. Academy Health has exclusive rights to the Frontlines newsletter.
