- NSN 7R-1430-01-226-8646, Qty 110 EA, Delivery FOB Origin-- The Naval Inventory Control Point, Philadelphia will be soliciting a proposal for Performance Based Logistics (PBL) support of the APG-65/73 Radar, used on both the F/A-18 and AV-8 aircraft. The scope of this effort would encompass repair, modification, overhaul and replacement of hardware, requisition processing, product reliability, and availability improvement. The requirement demands aggressive pursuit of system reliability improvements through effective configuration and obsolescence management, technology insertion, and innovative product and support improvements. Performance is planned to commence on 1 Oct 2005 and will continue for 5 base years with an option to extend the contract for an additional 5 years. The 10-year estimated value is expected to be in excess of $500 million. NAVICP plans to satisfy this requirement by contracting with McDonnell Douglas Corporation, a Wholly Owned Subsidiary of the Boeing Company, as a prime integrator for the Raytheon Company, El Segundo, Ca. Raytheon is the only known source to have the full manufacturing and repair capability at this time.
