Description
Headquarters Standard System Group (SSG) is conducting market research to find Software Asset Management (SAM) Tools for efficient and effective utilization of NIPRnet and SIPRnet software assets, resulting in a “cradle-to-grave” process for managing software. Goals are to track and perform SAM for all NIPR/SIPR software (GOTS and COTS licenses), to improve compliance and to ease reporting requirements (OSD SAM, CCA, CFO, CIR, SCD) by leveraging automation, and to integrate disparate Air Force (AF) activities to improve software management. Must have features include ability to customize software searches, upchannel reports (detailed and summarized), export aggregated data, automatically associate license use with Software License contracts, access software on Operating Systems other than Microsoft, access servers as well as personal computing devices (desktops, laptops, tablets, PDAs), automatically collect complete and accurate AF NIPR/SIPR software information across the enterprise, deposit and retrieve all AF NIPR/SIPR software with visibility for all authorized AF staff via a web interface, manage NIPR/SIPR software assets, and, using auto-discovery, identify hardware on which SW runs. SAM Tools must store data in an ODBC-Compliant database and be able to exchange data electronically with other systems using specific fields including Software Product Name uniquely associated with SKU Number, Software Product unique identification number assigned by manufacturer, Manufacturer Name, Software Product version number required by Software Product Managers, Universal Standard Products and Services Classification (UNSPSC) Code, DoD Component that owns the Software product, certifications passed by the Software Product, General Service Administration (GSA) Contract Number, GSA Contract starting date, GSA Schedule Expiration Date, Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) Number, BPA Starting Date, BPA Expiration Date, Delivery Order (DO) Number, DO Starting Date, DO Expiration Date, Maintenance Contract Number associated with the software product, Maintenance Contract Starting Date, Maintenance Contract Expiration Date, Number of Purchased Software Licenses by the Service/Agency, Transferable Software Licenses out of the Service/Agency, Contract Type, License Type, Ordering Restriction, Maintenance Contract Terms & Conditions, Current warranty information under the Contract, and Current Status of the Contract. In response to this RFI, please provide to SSG your key products, prices and numbers of licenses under maintenance within the DoD, Coast Guard and the intelligence community. Please include in your response the amount of recent, current and projected revenues generated by these products from these customers. Identify customer POCs where available. Software publishers with General Services Administration (GSA) multiple-award schedule contracts or qualified resellers with GSA schedule contracts may be considered for establishing BPAs. All information you provide will be treated as business-sensitive, “For Official Use Only.” Please indicate whether your firm is a large business, small business, very small business, small disadvantaged business, 8(a) concern, women-owned small business, HUBZone small business, veteran-owned small business or service-disabled veteran-owned small business. Please provide your response no later than 27 Feb 2004 by email to Michael.Johnson@Gunter.AF.Mil or Charles.Elgin@Gunter.AF.Mil or mail to: HQ SSG/AQIS, Attn: Software Asset Management Tools RFI, 501 East Moore Drive, Room 1437 (Bldg. 884), Maxwell AFB-Gunter Annex AL 36114-3000. This is an RFI only. The Air Force will not pay for any information, documentation, data submitted and/or any costs associated with generating a response to this RFI. For specific questions, please contact 2Lt Johnson at 334-416-7276 or Mr. Elgin at 334-416-5322.
