- Description
- This is a sources sought for companies interested in providing hazardous waste disposal and management services for the Defense Reutilization and Marketing Service in the region of Central Asia (i.e., Afghanistan, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan.) The hazardous waste disposal includes, but is not limited to a variety of batteries, solvents, decontaminant agents, solid waste containing heavy metals, mercury and mercury containing items, pesticides/herbicides/fungicides/insecticides, waste oil and fuel, grease, POL contaminated solids and soil, filters, aerosol cans and compressed gas cylinders, asbestos items, fire extinguishing residue, uncontrolled medicine, ethylene glycol, spill residue, and empty containers that previously held hazardous contents. Management services to be performed include, but are not limited to identification of unknown liquids or solids for disposal classification, completion of waste profile sheets, labeling and packaging hazardous waste (includes the purchase of drums of varying andlabels for different sized containers), Transportation of hazardous waste from Central Asia (i.e., Afghanistan, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan). Sources must be knowledgeable and comply with all international laws and maritime regulations, including the Basel Convention. This is not a solicitation. A solicitation may be issued at a later date. If your firm is interested in offering on a solicitation on hazardous waste disposal and management services, email tracy.hart@dla.mil. Requests to this sources sought will not be responded to. If a solicitation is issued, a pre solicitation notice will be issued. Firms may express an interest now or, if applicable, when the pre solicitation notice is issued.
