- The fiscal year 2004 (FY04) Congressional Appropriations provided $4.2 million to the Department of Defense Myeloproliferative Disorders Research Program (MPDRP)to support innovative research directed toward Polycythemia Vera, Idiopathic Myelofibrosi s, and Essential Thrombocytosis. This program is administered by the US Army Medical Research and Materiel Command through the Office of the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP). The MPDRP is releasing one mechanism as a supplement to the USAMRMC BAA 02-1. The award mechanism is entitled 'Investigator-Initiated'and is intended to support basic or clincial militarily relevant research studies focused on the target areas above. The supplement to the BAA will be released on 18 February 20 04 with a submission deadline of June 30, 2004, 5:00 pm Eastern Time. Detailed description of this funding mechanism, evaluation criteria, and submission requirements can be found in the FY04 MPDRP supplement to the BAA 02-1. The MPDRP BAA supplement can b e downloaded from the USAMRAA website at http://www.usamraa.army.mil/pages/index.cfm. All applicants will be required to submit one electronic version of their proposal as a PDF (portable document format) file. All documents may be downloaded from the USAM RAA website.
