Description

An Invitation For Bid will be available for download on or about 22 March 2004 at the Alaska District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Contracting Web site in electronic format only using electronic bid sets (EBS) at https://ebs.poa.usace.army.mil/advert isedsolicitations.asp You must register at the web site for this solicitation to receive notification of solicitation updates. No disks shall be mailed. The solicitation shall be issued on a competitive sealed bid basis per FAR 19.8 and Section 8(a) of the Small Business Act (15 U.S.C. 637(a)). It has been determined that competition will be limited to 8(a) firms serviced by the SBA Alaska District Office and 8(a) firms with a Bona Fide Place of Business in the Alaska District Office Servicing area. Al l other firms are deemed ineligible to submit offers. Competition will not be restricted by stage of 8(a) program participation. The SBA Requirement Number is 7700-04-401782. The government shall not be responsible for bid preparation costs in the event the solicitation is canceled. To receive award contractors must be registered in the CCR. The requirement for the submission of both performance and payment bonds, in an amount equivalent to 100% of the award price, shall be applicable; therefore, the s uccessful 8(a) firm shall have the capability to acquire such bonding. DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Clear and grade 1,600 feet of streambank at Galena, AK. Construct revetment from the top of the bank, about elevation 125 feet, to elevation 90 feet. The revetm ent consists of filter material, core rock, and armor rock, with a total thickness of about 5 feet. The downstream end of the revetment will overlap the existing revetment for 20 feet, and a key will be constructed at the upstream end 100 feet into the ba nk. A contractor's staging area will be provided at the site. There will be a pre-bid conference in Galena. The Estimated Magnitude of Construction is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. NAICS: 238910, Size Standard: $12.0 million. Completion date: Within 907 days after receipt of notice to proceed.
